This is America

We went to JUSCO yesterday to pick up a new bike for the wifey and they were having an American Fair — or something like that. There was this big display with the sign “This is America” under which sat Campbell’s soup, Budweiser, and cans of Spam. And I’m like “Hey, that’s…”
Oh never mind, they pretty much got it covered I guess.
Do most Americans actually eat Spam? I just find it ridiculous that a can over here goes for 500 or 600 yen.
Don’t worry, I’m sure that if it was a “This is Australia” fair, they’d have kangaroo burgers, Fosters, and a giant cut-out of Steve Irwin.
Hahahahaha, that’s golden.

No, not that I know of anyway. I have actually never met any American’s personally that eat Spam, but I assume they must exist somewhere.
And you got to admit, Steve Irwin and Fosters is at a significantly higher level than Budweiser and Spam.
Alyson -
You laugh, but you Canadians don’t even get a fair — which granted might not be that much of a bad thing.
They forgot about McDonald’s!
The kids are so freakin’ darling!

Thank ya, thank ya
Spam? I thought that was just a Hawaii thing and every other state was terrified of eating Spam.
Jen -
I think that’s probably accurate for the most part. I’ve honestly never met anyone (at least in the south were I grew up) who eats it.
Hello Scott! It’s been awhile! I thought as well that Spam is a Hawaiian thing since a friend of mine from Hawaii told me about their fixation about that particular canned good.
Btw, your babies are soo adorable and cute!
Haha, how impressive we must look to others.
Charles Ravndal -
Hey Charles, it has been a while! I think Spam is more of a Hawaiian thing but Hawaii technically equals the US (even though it really doesn’t in a lot of ways), so there you go — Budweiser and Spam (laugh). Thanks for the compliments!

It’s ok, because Japan is all about Sushi, sake, and Hello Kitty.
O.k. wait, bad example maybe.
