My parents flew in to Tokyo this week to meet Anna and to hang out with Sakura and I. I think it has been, what, maybe six months since I have seen them last? I can’t remember. Anyways, it was a real pleasure to have them. I even mangaed an evening to take them out to eat in Shibuya and show them the town a bit.

More Shibuya pictures here.
Anyways, now the parents have gone home and we have pretty much finished with our rush of guest to come visit Anna. I start work again tomorrow and I am slightly dreading how that is going to be — I’m going to be running pretty low on fuel for the next month being as I’m not getting all that much sleep. Regardless, I am slowly starting to catch up with the world again.
Well, I had planned on uploading a pound of baby pictures last night but, uh, my computer crapped out again. Luckily, I learned my lesson last time and have a backup of all my data, including the pictures I have taken this week. The downside is that the backup is on a second drive inside my computer so I’m going to have to do a temporary setup so I can pull them out and transfer them over to this laptop. From there I can have something to work with. So in short, sorry, but there is going to be a bit of a delay. I’m hoping I can work it out this week though. Oh, and I am definitely going to have to get myself a new desktop it seems.
As for the baby, her name is “Anna,” which works both in English and Japanese (with the pronunciation slightly different in Japanese, but bah, who cares). And of course to me and her mom she is the most adorable thing on the planet. When she cries, she scrunches up her entire face and her whole head flushes red. She seems to love people, makes funny faces, grabs at your fingers, sticks her tongue out, and is exceptionally proficient and melting her parent’s hearts. I can’t wait to introduce her.
In the meantime, I am off now to go meet my parents at the airport. They have flown in for the week to “help around at the house” (meaning: “play with the baby”). I’ll check back in soon.
Our baby girl was born yesterday, 2:07 in the afternoon at a whopping 3.5 kilos (7 pounds, 7 ounces). Both mother and baby are healthy and doing fine. I just wanted to let everyone know and say thanks to all who have called, written, and in general just been utterly sweet and supportive. We really do appreciate it.
More updates to come — hopefully this evening.

Quick update: The wifey is going into labor.
Heading out to the hospital now.
